Top baby names in the UK and other countries?

Where can you find top baby names in the UK and other countries? I frequently check the Social Security website for U.S. top baby names. I've seen some "top 100" lists for the U.K., but never any "top 1000" lists. Do these exist? What are your favorite websites for looking up a name's popularity outside of the U.S.?

Thanks!Top baby names in the UK and other countries?
It seems you might already be familiar with this, but here's a link to the top 100 girl names in England and Wales for the past five years (I'm not sure if they make more in-depth rankings available online), and you can click the link to the left to go to the male stats. http://www.statistics.gov.uk/specials/ba鈥?/a>

Likewise, here are the top 100 for Scotland -- http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/files1/st鈥?/a> -- as well as other compilations (alphabetized, etc. -- http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/statistic鈥?/a> ), and the same thing for Northern Ireland http://www.nisra.gov.uk/archive/demograp鈥?/a>

I'm certain you can find other countries' lists by searching for their registrar offices, but these are the ones I'm most familiar with, personally. ;) Hope they help a bit!Top baby names in the UK and other countries?
Go to Bounty.com and have a little browse. there are other sites too. You can also order a book with baby names from there.

Good Luck.

The best link out there is the Baby Name Map. Unfortunately, very few countries are as data-obsessed as the US.

Plus, remember that in countries with fewer births, a Top 1000 list might not always be practical. In the US, they cut off after 1000 partially for privacy reasons. (After all, even name #1000 - Jarvis and Flor in 2006 - has been bestowed on 181 and 255 children, respectively.)

In any case, the number they go up to varies greatly by country, but it's a great site, and they seem to add to it steadily.
