I agree with Grace on the first place!Ava is stupid and shouldn't be there.Emma is very nice! The others are not very nice but may be...For boys I agree with Alexander,Michael, James,Jacob and Landon.
i am about name my daughter isabella :)What do you think of the top baby names for 2006?
They look like the same top names as 2005. I'm glad my baby's name isn't on the list!
i think a lot of them are nice, but obviously trendy. when i have kids, i want them to have unique names without being too odd, like some celebrities' kids. the thing i would say about the top names from this year is that the girl ones are very feminine and the boy ones are very biblical. What do you think of the top baby names for 2006?
I like Elizabeth and Ethan. That would even be perfect for twins.
Cute names! But, I'm glad that my childrens' names didn't make the top 10 this year.
For the girls, I like 2, 3, 6, and 10.

For the boys, I like 1, 8 ,and 10.

I'm particularly picky with names..

mostly because I associate names with faces I know currently or used to know.
Grace--nice and simple, very pretty

Ava--a lovely name that would grow well with someone

Emma--not my style

Madison--very "90's" to me

Addison--ugly for a girl, very masculine

Isabella--I'm soo tired of this name! No more Isabella's: Please!

Elizabeth--very pretty, very classic, love it.

Abigail--one of my favorite names!

Olivia--again, one of my favorites

Ella--love it!

Aidan--just like Isabella. Too common and I'm sick of hearing it.

Ethan--love it!

Noah--great name

Caleb--not my style

Jacob--wonderful!

Alexander--too 90's

Michael--not my style, but a nice name I guess

Landon--cheap sounding

Logan--it's alright

James--gotta love the classics
Well some of them are just old classic names like Grace, Isabella, Elizabeth, Abigail, Michael, Jacob etc.. To me some like Addison and Madison and Landon and Logan sound more like last names then first but to each is own. I named my children Joshua and Lauren. And none of my family liked the name Lauren
In my area one of the hospitals keeps track of the most popular names.

Girls: Emma

Boys: Ethan
I agree, the names are getting a little "trendy"

I think the reason Aidan is so popular is because of the show "Sex %26amp; The City"

Ironically, Emma never made the list until Racheal from Friends named her baby Emma.

Also, do you remember the surge of "Tristains" after Brad Pitt played that character in Legends of the Fall?

I agree with the other posters, I am so glad my daughter's name is not on the list!
at least muhammad is not on the list. in england, it is now the top boys name. ugh.
I like Caleb and Madison
I wouldn't name my child anything on this list even though I like some of the names. I wouldn't want her to be the fifth Grace in her class or for him to be the fifth Ethan on the ball field. This list is a great resouce-it tells you what names are way too common!
THEY ARE OKAY, THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM,
I think we got the same e-mail.

All I could think of was:

5. Jacob (Do not like)

6. Alexander (love)

10. James (Okay)
They look like repeats from the fifties, which goes to prove a lot of names sleep for a while, then they wake up.

For the girls I only like Emma, Madison and Elizabeth

For the boys I like Logan, Landon and Caleb.
Most of these are nice names (Grace %26amp; Noah are my favourites), with a couple of exceptions (absolutely hate Emma because of the book Madame Bovary...), but I wouldn't call my kids any of these names, because I don't want them to be in class with 2 other Isabella %26amp; 3 Aidan... (though they are really lovely names)

I'd rather search for a name that's rare, peculiar, even unheard... I want my kids to be unique %26amp; different, to stand out in a crowd, not be drowned in a sea of homonyms...

But that's just my point of view!
they r ok
my faves are- madison, isabella, and elizabeth, alexander, and thats about it!
Ugh, gag me with a spoon.

What ever happened to originality and naming your kid something significant and meaningful?

I'm in my 20s and EVERYONE I know is named Sarah (2 friends, step sister, cousin, friend's friend). And my name is pretty commong too. I feel bad for all the Ava's and Grace's and Emma's that will be one of five in their school classes.
I like Grace and Ava, but my favorites are Isabella and Elizabeth. They are beautiful and elegant. It's too bad they're so common, but I guess everyone wants to name their kid a beautiful name. I like most of the boys' names, especially Michael.
I agree - I don't care for most of the names. I do like Elizabeth %26amp; Michael.

Most of the girl's names sound like a toothless old lady in a nursing home - Emma? Noah, where's the animals and your ark?
ISABELLA,ELIZABETH

Noah,Alexander

Logan,Landon
